On March 29, 2025, the iLuvVivid Experience Center located on Wuyi Road (formerly the residence of Cai Yuanpei) hosted a unique cultural event titled “Chinese Colors, Chinese Homes.” This gathering brought together designers and cultural enthusiasts from diverse fields to explore the charm and applications of traditional Chinese colors and to experience the distinctive allure of Eastern cultural arts.
01 Event Highlights

The event featured several interactive segments designed to immerse participants in the beauty of traditional Chinese ethnic colors:
Dong Brocade Weaving Experience: Weaving masters from the Dong ethnic group in Tongdao County demonstrated traditional brocade techniques, showcasing how these classic craft colors are transformed into modern fashionable accessories.

Special Guests: Mr. Huang Yizhong, founder of the iLuvVivid brand, led the event and shared the brand philosophy and future trends in home decoration design with partner Ms. Wang Aiying from Ou Zhiya Home.

Expert Insights: Senior arts and crafts master Professor Lou Shengsen shared his perspectives and hopes for the use of traditional and ethnic Chinese colors in contemporary design.

iLuvVivid Collection Exhibition: The event featured four major exhibition zones displaying a rich collection of traditional color samples, patterns, and application cases gathered by iLuvVivid over the years.

By combining ethnic colors and patterns, iLuvVivid presented these uniquely textured samples to inspire and spark creativity among designers.
This event embodied iLuvVivid’s mission: to provide a platform for designers to connect, deepen industry ties, expand networks, access information, and foster interactive exchanges—a vibrant social gathering where inspiration meets culture.
02 A Tactile Journey Through Cultural Memory
“True luxury lies not in precious materials, but in transforming cultural memory into tangible experience.”
— Huang Yizhong, CEO of iLuvVivid
This philosophy has always guided iLuvVivid and was the heart of this event. Through carefully curated exhibition zones, abstract color concepts were transformed into tactile, perceptible wall art, bringing traditional culture into modern life in the most direct way.
03 Texture Reimagined: Transforming Cultural Memory into Sensory Experience
Miao Ethnic Group

Known as “wearable history books,” Miao costumes spread widely across Southeast Asia, showcasing boundless vitality with limited resources. Their exquisite embroidery and masterful silver ornaments reflect their artistic pursuit and spiritual wealth. These crafts are now intangible cultural heritage, with growing efforts to spread Miao culture by blending classical and modern aesthetics to create vibrant cultural colors.
Waltz Texture
Inspired by Miao silver jewelry, this texture blends the shine and feel of silver, bringing ethnic character and artistic flair into interior spaces.

Miao Silver: Silver-adorned, resonating with enduring Miao charm.
Dong Ethnic Group

Dong brocade features blue-and-white floral and octagonal patterns, dyed with natural indigo for an elegant, rhythmic effect. Common in daily wear and household items, it reflects reverence for nature and a simple aesthetic. The handwoven craft draws motifs from natural life, symbolizing harmony and good fortune.
Xiangnai Double Crepe Texture
Recreates the Dong brocade’s subtle tones and intricate patterns, using a vertical crepe weave that mimics water ripples and cedar grain, infusing spaces with traditional cultural spirit.

Plain Brocade White: Pure and naturally elegant Dong brocade.
Mongolian Ethnic Group

Ulan Lake, located east of the Tengger Desert (China’s fourth largest desert), is named after the Mongolian word for “red.” In July and August, the lake’s waters turn a brilliant red due to abundant saltwater creatures and algae. Its heart-shaped surface has earned it the nickname “Earth’s Heart” or “Red Sea” by locals.
Golden Vein Flow Texture
Fine golden lines weave over the surface like lake ripples, creating a unique crackled texture.

Chinese Red: A cultural totem, radiant and magnificent.
Turquoise

Mongolian jewelry often features silver, turquoise, white shell, and red coral, admired for size and abundance, adorning from head to waist. The beads, though small, are precious stones formed over hundreds of thousands of years.
Crystal Stone Texture
Polished like a gemstone, with subtle shimmer under light, combining stone’s texture with silk’s softness.

Turquoise: Sky-blue jade, warm and auspicious.
Bai Ethnic Group

Bai tie-dye was once an imperial tribute during the Song dynasty, banned for common use but later became popular folk fashion in Southwest China. The technique involves stitching, tying, and knotting fabric before dyeing, leaving undyed patterns. Natural plant dyes vary by environment, and the resulting art carries a warmth and authenticity impossible to replicate industrially.
Tie-Dye Texture
Inspired by the tie-dye craft, walls display ink-wash-like gradient effects, with natural diffusion patterns evoking misty, ethereal beauty.

Lapis Lazuli: Blue-dyed craftsmanship, simple and elegant.
